Post life as a kid. Or at least a younger kid. Oli spent a year or so doing some pro longboard contests. That wasn’t going to work. So he studied a business course and spent a few years working the corporate ladder. That didn’t work. So he packed the bag and got lost on the other side of the world for a year. He came home and realized there’s not a lot that beats the feeling of catching a wave. The ocean, salt, air, trim lining – it’s all pure fucking bliss. Then he figured he has two legs and two arms so he’s going to have a crack of making something out of this love affair. And, he’s now committed to it, confident. Dougs. The smart one and he’s always shredded. He spent his last year or so amongst the general school work either in the surfing class at Palm Beach high or ripping the boys new home break of D’bah. He then also went into the sales side of life and realized that definitely wasn’t going to work so, aside of realizing a bit of his artistic talent, he packed his bags a little earlier than Oli and hit the overseas travel. He then came home to join Oli on their year long adventure through Europe/UK. Not only has Doug’s been working on his music and art but he’s been styling on the log on his back hand since he got back home to Rainbow bay. Here in South East Queensland, Australia, the weather has been rather dreary and grey for summer’s day. So I started to reminisce of our lazy time in Bath, England, it too was dreary and grey but full of inspiration. It reminded me to look around even when it’s a little miserable and see the air is still and clear, the trees are green and flowers full of colour. So,

They were taken last year whilst the Lazybox team was checking out life in England, enduring a winter in the historic city of Bath. These photographs showcase the beauty of the Avon river, a network of canals that wind through England, a truly unique and simply beautiful lifestyle that some people lead living on long boats. The Lazybox team spent a month is Spain last year, found some all-time waves and loved the relaxed culture and beautiful country-side. One half of the creative that is Lazybox, my names Oli. If Lazybox allows me to write, make art, take photographs, create, and assists other people to do the same, then it’s already a success.
After studying a business course at Universtity and spending the following five years working my way up the corporate ladder, I was searching for more.
So… I spent last year exploring some remote and beautiful locations in Europe, the beautiful people I’ve met, the sheer history of the places I explored and everything in between has left me inspired. So inspired I began to write again, to capture thousands of photographs and to draw – the wild creative me was breathing again.
I thought about studying creative writing at University, but then I thought, fuck it, how about I just pick up a feather and curve some ink, everyday. So, that’s what I did, that’s what I’m doing and well let’s face it here I am writing and editing for Lazybox Magazine, the next big thing.
I hope Lazybox allows me to be a creative person, forever. And, I hope it inspires you, whoever you may be, to do the same. Life’s way too short.
I remember finishing high school, they made all graduates write a life quote in the end of year book, I wrote
“If you do what you love, you’ll love what you do”.

Matt Cuddihy can ride the nose. Not only that, he’s just an all round waterman and lover of the ocean. He is known and respected by his peers as quite the humble and individual human being. He just does his thing, seemingly with such ease. Be it throwing the leather jacket on and taking his bike for a burn, traveling solo through the states or just hangin’ with his folks.
